"Kappa"

A traditional tattoo of my favorite yokai

I created this design for a client who specifically wanted a tattoo that reflected what I stand for and my tattoo style.

So, we chose to work with what I'm most passionate about, which is yokai, and of course, my favorite yokai, the Kappa.

So, I added a cucumber, which is Kappa's favorite food, but in blue to make the piece stand out more and add more mystique. I did this because one of the reasons people offer pickles to the Kappa is to obtain their protection in the waters.

This project was 4x3 inches in size and cost $400.
